The girls of late....

Karin absolutely loves doing school every day! We are just reviewing letters and numbers right now. She already recognizes everything in the letter department, but the numbers need some work. She asks to "do school" every morning as soon as she wakes up and can't understand why we don't do it on the weekends. :) She is really growing up so fast and cracks us up regularly with the things she says!

Lauren is 9 months old already! How time flies! She was 19 lbs. on Monday at her check-up--55%. She was also 27.5" long--45% with her head being 17.5"--65%. Jon jokes that she is short with a big head. (Karin's stats are the same way.) :-) She is so happy all the time! She loves cheerios and can't wait to eat everything we are eating. She isn't far from standing on her own and walks pretty well holding onto one of our hands. She has 4 teeth on the bottom and is working on her first 2 on the top. What a joy she is to us! It is so much fun to watch her and Karin interact. Karin loves to help her and bring her toys. She even wants to help her start to walk! :) (That may change once she can actually get around a lot faster!)

Really long update

Sorry I've been so bad about keeping this updated. I just started a school schedule with the girls, and it doesn't leave me much extra time. Here are some pictures from the last weeks. The quality isn't that great--our camera is still gone, so these are from my phone.

Jon and Karin flossing their teeth together.

My two fairies. :)

I started some preschool with Karin last week and she loves it! We were lacing beads and made necklaces one day.

Karin often asks to hold Lauren so I can take their picture. This was one of those times. I love the smiles I captured!

Jon took the girls over to a flag football game at school last week so I could get a nap. It poured right before the game started, so Karin had the time of her life jumping in the puddles and getting soaked!

Karin and I fed the birds...I think this is when the one pooped on me!

It was so hot! Poor Lauren!

We let Karin take a pony ride. She loved it!

getting jello from Grandpa's plate

Lauren found Karin's cheerios the other night and spilled them all over the floor. Of course, she did eat some of them...I guess she figured that by spilling them, she could see how many she had left to eat. :)

My mom came down for a day before Jon started school so we could go out for a day. We went down to Charleston and just hung out. It was so nice to be able to talk and just be together! Thanks, Mom!

Sayings from Karin

The other night, Jon was taking Karin up to bed. She said, "It's crunchy, Daddy." He said, "What is?" She responded, "Your face is crunchy, Daddy." (He hadn't shaved that day.)

A few weeks ago after Sunday School, we were asking Karin what story she had learned in Sunday School. She said that she had learned about Paul and that he had fallen down. We asked why he had fallen down. She responded, "A flashlight."

Today after church, Jon was asking her again what she had learned in Sunday School. She said, "Peter...in prison." Jon asked her if he got out of prison. She said, "Yes." He asked, "How?" Karin responded, "A big flashlight came and got him."

I guess I need to talk to her teachers. :)
