Daddy's Littlest Valentines

Jon brought home a rose bush for me yesterday as well as some roses for Karin and Lauren. They thought they were the greatest thing! Especially Karin!

Lauren

Just wanted to give an update on our youngest. She cut three teeth last weekend--including 2 molars! I think the other 2 molars aren't far behind. I will be so glad when she is through with the teething stage! She drools so much!

She has had a mysterious rash since right after Christmas. We can't really seem to figure out what is causing it. Peanut butter occurred to me last week, so I called the pediatrician. He referred her right away to an allergist. (He was going to refer her anyway if it didn't clear up in a reasonable amount of time.) We finally have an appointment with the allergist for February 17th. I'm really hoping that the tests will show something! For now, the Zyrtec is keeping the rash away.

She has started saying "uh-oh"....only it sounds more like "uh-uh" most of the time. :) She loves playing with Karin and calls her "Dee-Dee"--funny that that is what Karin called herself for the longest time! :)

I can't believe she is 14 months already! Where has the time gone? I guess that since she started walking a ton earlier than Karin, she seemed to grow up a lot faster in other areas as well!

I guess he thinks he's cool....

There is this guy who lives somewhere close to us who has this motorcycle that he enjoys riding. That's all fine and good...except instead of riding it like a normal person, he revs his engine over and over again--allowing us to still hear him when he is a mile away. (Ok, maybe I exaggerate a little....) I call him "the dude". He annoys me to no end and I'm about ready to call the police on him...especially when he rides by during naptime or right after my girls have gone to bed at night. I mean, we don't exactly live on a main highway. He could have a little courtesy to the people around him. It's funny to hear Karin say, "Mommy, I heard 'the dude' go by." :)

Oh Karin!

The other day, Karin woke up from her nap a little too early. She was really fussy, so Jon sent her up to her bed for a little bit. When he went upstairs to talk to her, her heard her say, "I have all these tears, and I don't know what to do with them!"

Now that she is potty trained, life is so much simpler! It's so wonderful only changing one diaper instead of two! The only problem is that she takes FOREVER each morning to decide what pair of underwear she is going to wear! Yesterday, she pulled out four pairs and laid them over the side of her drawer. I told her she needed to hurry up and decide which one she was going to wear. She responded, "Mom, I'm giving myself choices." :)

POC ceremony

Last Friday, Jon took his Pledge of Commitment and donned his white coat at the medical school. His dad and my parents were able to be there for this special event. What a milestone he has achieved! We are so proud of him! Here are some pictures.

Jon was first--I guess that's what you get when your last name starts with "Ab"! :)

The four of us at the reception afterwards--that's a program in the front. :)

Jon's senior mentors were there as well.

A milestone for Karin!

Karin is now potty trained! We are so proud of how quickly she learned. We really started with her last Wednesday. She has woken up dry overnight ever since then and has graduated from a pull-up! It is such a delight to see her face now that she is a "big girl"! :)
